Puppy Guidelines

Enjoy reading through these files to help you raise your puppy once you have them home. Please remember these are just some of our guidelines and thoughts. Here at Bellamiscela we do our very best to try and start your new family member off on the right foot.

Every Puppy is different and what works for one might not work for another, but the principles are the same. It is our experience that dogs need a purpose and especially Border Collies in suburbia. Many believe exercise is the key, but it is our experience that they yearn to be part of the family, they want to please and have structure. So, we truly believe setting tasks for everything we do with our big dogs is key and this reflects in our puppy practices as well. Our dogs know how to read our expectation, and this leads them to live a happy and content life. Basic obedience is a must and please seek out a local dog club in your area.

We introduce them to basic training and expose them to new and exciting things to try and help them develop into well rounded adults. We strive to do our very best and use many different items, toys and various other techniques to help. But again, we do not proclaim to be experts and only are guided by research and past experiences.
